NHRA POWERade Countdown to the Championship format changes for '08
January 10, 2008 - NHRA has announced modifications to the NHRA POWERade Countdown to the Championship designed to build upon the excitement and success generated from last year's inaugural season. In addition, NHRA also announced that the final race of the season, the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals, has been moved one week later to Nov. 13-16.

Rehabbing Force expects to be back at Phoenix test
January 10, 2008 - Just over three months after suffering severe injuries to his feet, hands, and legs in a 300-mph crash, John Force climbed into and out of the cockpit of his Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang Funny Car last week in a special rehabilitation session at the John Force Racing complex supervised by physical therapy director Robert Ortmayer.

Brown closes on Top Fuel license with more runs in Gainesville
December 20, 2007 - Antron Brown and the Lee Beard-led Matco Tools Top Fuel team completed three days of testing at Gainesville (Fla.) Raceway Dec. 19, making eight tries at the historic Gainesville quarter mile during the three-day winter test. Brown is just two passes away from earning his crossover Top Fuel license.

NHRA Pros to stare down NASCAR rivals in Bodine Bobsled Challenge
December 19, 2007 - Led by defending event runner-up Morgan Lucas, five top drivers from NHRA POWERade Drag Racing will take on a group of NASCAR stars in the third annual Geoff Bodine Bobsled Challenge, Jan. 3-5 at the Olympic Sports Complex in Lake Placid, N.Y. Lucas, who finished second to Boris Said last January in the fundraising event, will be joined by J.R. Todd, Doug Herbert, Bob Vandergriff Jr., and new Pro Stock world champion Jeg Coughlin at this year's race.
